Those girls were golden
The Retro Blog has a great blog post tracing the pre-Golden Girls careers of Rose, Dorothy, Blanche, and Ma. Go read it, but I had to repost this.
Rue McClanahan looked like this as a young woman
and starred in a movie called Walk the Angry Beach in 1968, where she goes to Hollywood to try to break into the movies, but winds up being taken advantage of by sleazy producers, and is forced to become a stripper!
The talking you hear is Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett- three of the guys responsible for Mystery Science Theater 3000, who got together to skewer the movie in DVD form after the show had died.
