Peter Tommerup found an injured hummingbird baby in his yard and decided to nurse it back to health. As it was healing, he took it to the garden every day so it could feed itself and even got the hummingbird’s mom to come and feed the baby in his hands.
As a girl who used to keep watch over my grandmother’s hummingbird feeder, holding my breath and wishing that the birds would think of me as part of the backyard so they would feel ok flitting around and eating in front of me, I am impressed.
