Now this is newsworthy.
Jump to find out what this is.
This is a sun, but it is not our sun. This sun is 470 light years away from planet Earth, and it’s name is 1RXS J160929.1-210524. And that little orange dot in the upper left? It’s a planet that orbits 1RXS J160929.1-210524, and it’s the first photo ever of a planet in another solar system.
The little orange guy has a mass eight times that of Jupiter, and it hangs at a toasty 2,700 degrees Fahrenheit.
There are all kinds of fun implications from this find, but I’ll let you read about them over at Gizmodo. Here at Gynomite, we just like to look at pictures and marvel.

This is awesome! I think I’ll name my first son 1RXS J160929.1-210524.
Get it? Son, sun…gah I should stick to science and not comedy.
