A post of laughter.
Reddit recently posed the question “Is there one image that makes you laugh every time you see it…. no matter how many times you see it?” and a million people posted their answers. I went through them all and collected my favorites- for you!
Maleficent
On a recent episode of The Indoor Kids, Kumail confessed his weird attraction to Maleficent in the Disney movie Sleeping Beauty. Artist Jade Gordon, who’s done great art for Kumail before, responding by creating this:
This is me as Maleficent. I think Kumail is getting this tattooed on himself now.
How rad is this?
If you grew up playing video games, and you live in LA….
…you must go to Game Dude.
It is an amazing store filled with old consoles, old games, old gaming accessories, and absolutely filled with the coolest, most knowledgeable staff I’ve ever seen.
Today, I saw
Kumail and I managed to escape only buying a Super Nintendo and two games, but we’ll be going back soon….
The art of dance.
Holy shit, Nathan Barnatt, aka Keith Apicary, can dance like a motherfucker.
I hope you enjoy this video as much as I did, and if you want to see him live, he’ll be at NerdMelt this Friday!

Whitney publicity ads. Yikes.
This guy got trashed, blacked out, and woke up the next morning with all of these pictures tagged on Facebook. It doesn’t sound that funny, but for some reason it really is.
Marilyn Manson still knows how to bring the bizarre, so many years later. Or at least his girlfriend does.
Here’s a nice mention of one of my most recent HuffPo pieces in Sandpaper Suit- thanks Matt Ruby!
90% of people don’t know how to use CTRL+F (or Command+F)!

New Job!
Hi all! I’ve been added as the new cohost of The Indoor Kids, a Nerdist Industries podcast about video games! It’s hosted by Kumail Nanjiani, also known as my husband.
You can check out the podcast on Nerdist, ITunes, Twitter, and Facebook! Go do the things!
Slutburger
When I was a teenager, I read about Slutburger, a punk-rock, feminist, underground comic book drawn by a woman named Mary Fleener. I never even got to read the comic, just read about it (probably in Sassy magazine), and it inspired me to try and make my own ‘zine.
I have no artistic skills.
My zine was called “Dr. Lipshitz” and the cover, if I remember correctly, was a picture of a very vapid-looking Pomeranian that I’d found in a magazine and had scribbled all over. I’m sure the ‘zine was filled with my ramblings on being a non-conformist, and perhaps some funny rhymes, and I’m sure it was terrible. That’s not the point of the story.
Last night at The Meltdown, someone randomly pulled a comic out of the “old comics” bin, and it was this:

I freaked a little, and decided it needed to live with me. I’ll update you as I read it to see if it inspires the 90s feminist in me!
Gynomite’s Reading Room!
Everything you ever needed to know about pegging.

Behold the Triple Double Oreo.
I wrote this post about being divorced, but not broken, at Huffington Post!
You probably weren’t going to see the Anne Hathaway accent-fest “One Day” anyway, but here’s why you shouldn’t.
Here’s an adorable video of the staff of Meltdown/NerdMelt I took yesterday!
In other news, this UFO evidence terrifies me. Watch this special on the History Channel Thursday!
What a pretty lady wears to a wedding.
Gynomite’s Reading Room!
Chipotle’s Pinto Beans have pork in them. Yup. Not a big deal to some, an ENORMOUS deal to others. At least they’re being nice about it, but that may not comfort the Muslims out there…
A charming post at LA Weekly about what it’s like to be black and listen to white people music.
You can’t sneak up on a grasshopper.
30 Ghostbusters facts you might not have known! One involves Debbie Gibson!
This is a post at Sociological Images about the difference between Toddlers and Tiaras and the recent spread in Vogue (French Children edition?) featuring a disturbingly grown up looking 10 year old girl, or if there’s a difference at all. Is it ok for a sexual image of a 10 year old to be out there because it’s artsy?
