Also.
If you watch Mad Men, then you saw Kumail doling out marriage advice in an ad for Life As We Know It last night! Hooray! I still can’t find it online, but here’s a pic!
Franklin and Bash… and Kumail
Now is as good a time as any to let you know that my husband Kumail got a part in a sitcom pilot for a show called Franklin and Bash. Kumail will be playing a lawyer named Pindar. Who stars in Franklin and Bash?
The pilot starts filming soon, and keep your fingers crossed that it gets picked up… because we all want to see Zach Morris back on TV again, right?
UPDATE! Here’s a pic I took on set of Breckin, Mark-Paul, and Kumail mid-scene. I snuck it!
Two Awesome Pictures
This is one of a series of pictures of the work being done 100 feet under Manhattan to connect all the LIRR tunnels for a central hub. Despite all the insanity that the people doing these people must be facing, they still have coffee preferences.
This, my friends, is a picture of Kumail onstage with Les Savvy Fav’s Tim Harrington, singing a John Mayer song. (Most of you will understand why) I saw Les Savy Fav in Carrboro NC almost 10 years ago, and bought their CD that night. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that I would eventually marry a man that would eventually join them onstage.
No more horsing around, let’s make this a phenomenon!
Hey, do you guys remember when Kumail and I tried to start an Internet meme of replacing one word in the title of a TV show with the word horse, a la Miami Horse?
Well Kumail took it to the next level by trying to name as many as he could at a World Appreciation Society Event at Joe’s Pub last week, sponsored by the Universal Record Database.
If you’re in NC, come on doooooown!
Tonight at the Dirty South Improv Theater in Carrboro, NC, Kumail will be performing! Let’s do this!
Places where you’re constantly wondering when someone will tap you on the shoulder and ask you what you’re doing there…
Sorry I’ve been postless today, lots of catching up to do in my regular life. A few weeks ago Kumail found out he was hosting the Gotham Independent Film Awards, and since then there’s been a flurry of activity. Kumail had to write a monologue; I had to get a dress and hair appointments. (Different priorities)
Jump for more of me being star struck and Kumail wrestling Willem Dafoe.
This is just cool.
I know I’m having a real comedy-heavy day today here at Gynomite, but bear with me. This is a super cool little piece of art that’s part of a series that is on the Apiary every Friday. I never really got any of them before, but this one…

… is a reference to Kumail’s Cyclone bit (which he’ll be performing on Letterman this Friday!). How cool is that? Go here to see more of Billy Scafuri and Tim Bierbaum’s work.
So effing proud
My talented and awesome and kinda badass husband Kumail is on the cover of the Arts section of the Times this Sunday. The article is up online already, so click here if you want to read it.

Photo taken behind our apt by the awesome Damon Winter. That skull is not a prop. It's always there.
This may get weird.
Thursday night (that’s tonight for those playing at home) from 8pm to 9pm EST, Kumail and I are going to be the esteemed guests on the David Angelo Radio Show, which you can listen to yourself by clicking here!

I have no idea how this will go down. Hopefully hilariously. You can call in live if you want by calling 251-300-JOKE
