La Fin de Semana!

April 16, 2009 at 11:12 am (my life) (, , , , , , )

There are so many things for you to do this weekend.  SO MANY.

Let’s start with the reason one of my oldest BFFs, Amber, is in town this weekend- to go see the Dead Milkmen at the Warsaw!  How ridiculous did I feel that an Atlanta girl had the scoop on shows in Brooklyn?  But she’s always been cooler than me.

But now onto the self promotion.

First, on Saturday night at midnight, is another rip-roarin’ episode of Game Bros. LIVE! with Thomas and Kumail!  This show is going to be awesome as usual, so come on down to the UCB this Saturday at midnight!!  Sign up for tix here.

eternal_sunshine2Then on Sunday, when you’re feeling introspective, you should come on down to Word Bookstore on Franklin St in Brooklyn for Bad Dating Habits I Learned from the Movies, the workshop that I’ll be doing with my girl Angela and whoever else wants to come out and play with us!  We’ll talk about all the rules of dating that rom-coms taught us, and how they end up making us more miserable than listening to the Titanic theme.  Go here to find out more details, and email to RSVP.

In between all that fun you’re having, follow me on Twitter!  I don’t even know what that means!

New special guests each month, reviews, previews, discussions, competitions and audience prizes!!!

There will be a segment on naughty parts of games that were burned into our memories as children, and the guests this month are Arj Barker (Flight of the Conchords) and Rob Cantrell (Marijuanalogues)!

Sketch comedy reviews!

September 18, 2008 at 10:14 am (Comedy, my life) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

So I’ve seen some good sketch comedy lately and I thought I’d tell all of you about it.  You should know the following things about me before reading this:

  1. I am hard to impress when it comes to sketch comedy.
  2. The people I’m reviewing are, in fact, friends of mine, but click just to gaze in wonder at my objectiveness.
  3. This is just my opinion, and really, who am I?
  4. I’m Gynomite.  Hi, nice to meet you.
  5. I wouldn’t talk about these if I didn’t think each and every one of you would enjoy seeing them.
